The Time is Nearly Upon Us

It's been a wild couple of weeks, and my book hasn't even been published yet!

Last Monday, the Library's copy of Alison's Adventures in Time arrived at work. My co-worker presented the copy to me on bent knee as if she were presenting me with a crown. It was surreal holding my book in the flesh for the first time, and it was extra fitting that it was the copy I ordered for my workplace. I cradled it for a few minutes, and since then, it's pretty much been on display in the back workroom, where it shall wait until it can be borrowed on Tuesday.

Last Friday, I was interviewed for the local paper. The article was released today, but I haven't read it yet because I'm scared. I don't like reading about myself almost as much as I don't like seeing pictures of myself, and this article has both! If you are braver than I, you can read the article here.

Hours before the interview, I contacted the local bookstore to arrange a little author meet-and-greet. We set up a reading/signing for January 31st at 11 am. I'm as petrified as I am excited. I hope it goes well! And I hope that I'm not just sitting alone in a room for two hours.

As the release day for my book approaches, I'm realizing more than ever that the most important part of this journey will be having people read my story and potentially resonate with it. Based on the handful of reviews currently on GoodReads, I've already done that. As far as I'm concerned, that makes me one of the richest people on earth.
