We can't stop oppressive nations from attacking the innocent. We can't convince mass polluters to care about the planet. We can't make the oligarchy work to benefit anyone other than themselves.
Now, insert the word "singlehandedly" after "can't". Makes things a little more palatable, right? Not really. But it's better than nothing.
Needless to say, I have no fresh ideas to contribute to the discourse surrounding humanity's ongoing self-imposed struggles. However, I can comment on a way to maintain optimism in these ✨unprecedented times✨.
It may seem like the world is headed to Hell in a handbasket and that there's literally nothing we can do. That's because what we can do isn't swords and steel, it's pen and paper. It's stylus and tablet. It's fingers and keyboards. It's imagination and innovation. Us creators must fight the good fight with our metaphysical children, the artful productions of our minds. Through our art, we bring joy to ourselves and others and help to shape the world into a better place by showing what can be.
Never stop believing in yourself and never stop believing that things can turn around. Hope is only dead if we stop giving it CPR.
