I honestly can't take my eyes off it, and haven't since the first drafts were sent to me. This has been in development for months, and it has been the most surreal experience from start to finish.

As you know, I'm very vain when it comes to book covers. I will read a book with a bad cover, but not without seeing a glowing review of it first. I need to be drawn in, inticed. All the better if it looks fabulous displayed on a shelf. As a result, having the "cover of my dreams" was a vital part of the process.

At the start, Jamie provided a selection of artists to choose from, including Sasha. I was really drawn to Sasha's style, particularly their use of colour and borders (plus, they had a delightful fan art portrait of Viktor on their Insta). Once we had Sasha locked in, I provided them with a reference board of the pose, vibe, and motifs I was looking for. And goodness gracious did they ever deliver! I am beyond pleased with the outcome.

Along with the cover reveal yesterday, Contrarian announced that my book will be the first published under their new Contrarian Young Readers imprint launching next year. This makes perfect sense, given that my book is a YA title. I'm excited to see what titles will be joining mine over the years. I can tell you this much; books 2 and 3 of my Archivists series will be making an appearance there, and you can bet come hell or high water that Sasha will be their artist.
