Two weeks ago, my debut novel officially launched at Betty's Bookshelf. I was extremely nervous leading up to it, but the event went over very well. I was overwhelmingly supported by family and friends and surrounded by lovely flowers as I signed copies of my books for a wide range of people, from current library patrons to former teachers. I am proud to say that we sold out of copies.

I am officially a published author, an idea I'm still processing. I've been wanting this for so long, although I don't think I'll ever truly get used to it. Just the other day, we were getting Dino registered at the vet, and when we gave my name to add to her file, the vet tech asked, "You mean, the author, Laura McAsh?"

It's a good thing I'm just small-town "famous" because while I'm flattered to be recognized for my work, I really do hate being the centre of attention. I just want people to enjoy my stories. That being said, I will have truly "made it" the day someone makes fan art of my work. That will be my next dream.

In the meantime, my official authorship has been extended to GoodReads as my request to join the Author Program has been accepted. Now I can be "official" when I stalk the reviews left for my book. If anyone reading this has read my book and hasn't left a review yet, please consider adding one! Love it or hate it, every review helps generate interest for Alison's Adventures in Time.
